The right technology
An RF Welded commercial mattress is similar to a sewn commercial mattress with the exception of the RF mattress having a completely sealed seam instead of a threaded seam. RF welding is simply a timed pulse of radio frequency energy, which heats the top and bottom mattress cover material enough to melt their thermoplastic coatings and fuse the two pieces together.

The foam core is non-recycled, non-allergenic and is protected from bacteria, mildew and fungus, moisture and odours, prolonging the life of the mattress considerably.

Vinyl is anti-bacterial,antifungal and completely waterproof.

The absence of threaded seams and zippers prevents fluids from seeping to the foam core.
The majority of seams that split are due to rotting threads.

Densified Polyester	Foam (Tuffseal Mattress)
A Densified Polyester mattress’ core is made of compressed polyester sheets. The sheets contain many small fibers that can be scattered into the air if the mattress covering has been compromised. Further, contraband can easily be hidden between the polyester sheets of an opened mattress. Finally, in terms of mattress life, Densified Polyester has a greater tendency of loosing volume and thickness versus a foam core.	The Tuffseal mattress is made up of solid foam and contains no filler material. Because of the density of solid foam, it tends to last much longer then cotton or polyester mattresses. If the mattress is opened the solid construction makes hiding contraband difficult. Only new, not recycled, foam is used in the Tuffseal mattress.
